In this episode, we dive into the inspiring story of Lisbeli Vera Andrade, a Venezuelan Para athletics superstar whose journey is as remarkable as her performance on the track. From humble beginnings racing at school at just 12 years old, Lisbeli was scouted and invited to join the world of Para sports. However, the path to greatness wasn’t easy. Lisbeli had to leave her village and overcome significant hardships, including walking miles to train and sometimes missing meals. Despite these challenges, her tenacity and talent shone through, leading her to become the first Venezuelan woman to win multiple medals at a single Paralympic Games, bringing home two golds and one silver in Tokyo. Lisbeli credits much of her success to her dedicated coach, who trained her and her team through the pandemic with limited resources, proving that with grit and a strong support system, anything is possible.

Now, with her eyes set on Paris 2024, Lisbeli is determined to make history once more. She’s fueled by the desire to inspire the Venezuelan community and feel their support, both from back home and in Paris.
